Licence and attribution

The project's own code is GPL-3.0-or-later. The open-source Supabase toolchain it drives carries its own notices.

Project licence

Licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later (GPL-3.0-or-later).

The full licence text ships with the source as its LICENSE file and is also published by the Free Software Foundation at gnu.org/licenses/gpl-3.0.html. GPL-3.0 is a copyleft licence: if you redistribute a modified version, your modifications must be licensed under the same GPL-3.0-or-later terms.

What the licence means in practice

  • You may run the software for any purpose, study it, and change it.
  • If you distribute it or a modified version, you must provide the corresponding source under the same licence and keep the notices intact.
  • There is no warranty, to the extent permitted by law.

Supabase toolchain attribution

Supabase Local Manager is a wrapper and orchestration layer. It does not modify the Supabase toolchain's source. It shells out to the Supabase CLI, runs the Supabase stack in Docker, and imports published Supabase libraries, notably @supabase/postgres-meta.

  • Supabase CLI is released under the MIT License. Copyright 2021 Supabase, Inc. and contributors. Source: github.com/supabase/cli.
  • The Supabase local stack and postgres-meta are released under the Apache License 2.0. Copyright Supabase, Inc. and contributors. Components include PostgreSQL extensions, GoTrue, Realtime, Storage, PostgREST, the gateway proxy and postgres-meta. Source: github.com/supabase/supabase.

The repository's THIRD-PARTY-LICENSES.md carries the full notices. Other runtime npm dependencies carry their own permissive licences in their packages; none impose copyleft on this project.
